The Skilly Valley vineyard is a sub-region of Watervale, running north to south on the valley floor, where the vines grow in sandy loam soils over broken quartz.
Protected from the extremes of the summer sun by the valley sides, the grapes from these vines produce Riesling with aromas of apple blossom and a naturally crisp acidic background.
The palate is citrus with peach and tropical notes.
A bright minerally scented wine from the Skilly Valley which sits within the Watervale subregion. This has more obvious lemony citrus notes and less of the Watervale minerality. The acid is slightly softer and the result is a wine that is delightfully friendly and appealing. Love the aromatic lift of red apple and a trace of orange zest. Excellent wine.
