Side Track is a new range of wines from Penna Lane which deviate from our established Clare Valley stalwarts. Grapes have been sourced from outside the estate vineyards and from wine regions further afield. These wines are our version of the road less travelled – they may not be varieties you expect from us, but nonetheless they are worth the journey.
Just released, from vintage 2021, are a Tempranillo Rose, made from grapes grown in the Polish Hill River region of the Clare Valley, and a Grenache from Blewitt Springs. The Grenache grapes were hand-picked in March 2021 and are from vines grown on Grenache root stock planted in 1930.
