We are very pleased to announce that our 2018 Watervale Riesling has been awarded a gold medal (95 points) at the recent Sydney Wine Show.
The Watervale is a fine example of a Clare Valley Riesling and is made from grapes sourced from 40 year old vines in Leasingham in the heart of the Watervale district.
From the Judges Comments for Class 2, Riesling 2018 (see Results Catalogue)
A good Class of very solid wines. Top wines showed elegance and intensity, with a depth of fruit and length of flavour.
Peter is seen below celebrating at the Watervale Hotel with the grower, Anthony Koerner.
And an extra glass was raised to Peter’s great-great-grandfather, Francis Treloar, who was the first person to plant vines in the Watervale region of the Clare Valley.
